About The Position

Rite of Passage is hiring a Youth Mentor at Falcon Ridge Ranch in Virgin, Utah. Falcon Ridge Ranch is a residential treatment program providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young women referred by juvenile courts and social service agencies. The program serves youth who may have experienced abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, mental illness, and violence.

The Youth Mentor provides safety and around-the-clock supervision for youth and helps maintain an atmosphere that supports students’ needs. The role includes monitoring and documenting student behaviors and activities, assisting with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities, and collaborating with professional staff to establish or meet each student’s treatment-plan goals.

The schedule is 3.5 days on and 3.5 days off, either Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday, totaling 40 hours. Start times vary from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. Shifts are 12 hours with a one-hour break, totaling 11 paid hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years old.
• Able to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, physical, and TB screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and around-the-clock supervision for youth in the program.
• Provide an atmosphere that supports the needs of students.
• Monitor and document student behaviors and activities.
• Participate in and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other professional staff to establish or meet each student’s treatment-plan goals.
