About The Position

Rite of Passage is hiring a Night Youth Mentor at Falcon Ridge Ranch in Virgin, Utah. Falcon Ridge Ranch is a residential treatment program that provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for young women referred by juvenile courts and social service agencies. The program serves youth who may have experienced abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, mental illness, or violence. The organization’s goal is to help students graduate from Lava Heights Academy as educated young women who have overcome challenges and demonstrated healthy choices for themselves and their future.

The Night Youth Mentor provides safety and around-the-clock supervision for youth and helps maintain an atmosphere that supports students’ needs. The role involves monitoring and documenting student behavior and activities, assisting with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities, and collaborating with professional staff on each student’s treatment-plan goals.

Pay is $18.00 per hour, depending on experience and education. The schedule is 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., with a one-hour break, on a rotating schedule: Week One is Sunday–Tuesday or Wednesday–Saturday; Week Two is Sunday–Wednesday or Thursday–Saturday. A $1,000 bonus is offered after successful completion of Essential Skills Training within the first 90 days.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years old.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, physical, and TB screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and around-the-clock supervision for youth in the program.
• Create an atmosphere supportive of students’ needs.
• Monitor and document student behaviors and activities.
• Participate in and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
• Collaborate with other professional staff to establish or meet each student’s treatment-plan goals.
