About The Position

As a Youth Justice Officer, you will work to improve outcomes for young people who have had contact with the justice system, helping the locality team reduce offending and contribute to safer communities. You will build positive relationships with young people, help them recognise their strengths, address risks, and make constructive changes, and work collaboratively with families, schools, and partner agencies. The role requires child-centred, inclusive, and restorative practice, sound safeguarding and assessment, and high professional standards and accountability. The position is full-time and temporary for 12 months, with a 35-hour working week. It is hybrid, with time split between remote and on-site work. The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User; occasional car journeys may be necessary but are not essential. If driving, the employee must hold a full valid driving licence, provide their own car for work, and provide appropriate documentation. A mileage allowance is paid for business use. Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must already have valid UK right-to-work documentation. Appointment is subject to relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of relevant qualifications and an Enhanced DBS check. The hiring manager for role enquiries is Andrew Rogers.
