About The Position

This position is responsible for planning, implementing, supervising members, and evaluating activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the Boys & Girls Club priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship. The role may involve overseeing special programs and/or events (i.e. Keystone, Youth of the Year and Awards Programs), and/or participating in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary. In the absence of the Program Coordinator, this role may provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals to ensure continuity of program services at unit/branch locations. A key aspect of this role is to build and maintain professional relationships with all Club members and their families to advance the mission of The Salvation Army.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
  • Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.
  • Ability interacts with children and teens with patience and respect.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports in an accurate and complete manner.
  • Ability to support and coordinate activities and events.
  • Ability to clearly communicate roles and responsibilities to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to schedule meetings.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers, volunteers and the public in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
  • Ability to operate and generally maintain all office equipment, including but into limited to the copier, fax machine.
  • Proficiency with Windows & Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred
  • If required, may have to possess a CDL level license.
