About The Position

Zach Gordon Youth Services is looking for a qualified individual to become a Youth Development Leader helping run grant funded afterschool programs in Douglas! We are looking for someone who is dedicated to Juneau’s youth and families. Someone who is interested in program development that is creative, fun, and place based. We are looking for someone who is excited to support and connect with families by hosting a monthly family night and communicating with families about upcoming activities and events. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, organized, and has a sense of humor about things. We are looking for someone who values relationships and is skilled in building in nurturing them.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or the equivalent
  • Any combination of work experience or post-secondary education totaling six (6) months in any field
  • First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of appointment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with youth and/or families impacted by trauma or coordinating patient referral or care services
  • Alaska Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Helping run a grant funded afterschool program
  • Working directly with youth
  • Providing on-site programming 10 - 15 hours a week at either Geneva Woods or Cedar Park
  • Hosting monthly family nights
  • Organizing field trips
  • Providing ongoing support of youth
  • Creating an overall safe and engaging space for youth
