About The Position

The Youth Counselor supports youth experiencing mental health crises in children’s crisis settings, providing community-based support as an alternative to living in a hospital, hotel, or detention center. The counselor implements interventions in each youth’s therapeutic support plan and participates in daily activities, including assistance with hygiene and other daily tasks, cooking, maintaining schedules, community outings, and behavior support. The role also involves trauma-informed, person-centered care; supporting youth in identifying triggers and using coping strategies; leading DBT groups; and helping youth stabilize and transition to a long-term living option. Counselors work with families, guardians, workers, coworkers, and the broader care team, and help maintain a safe, clean home environment. They support healthcare management, administer and document medications and other prescribed care, complete required documentation and training, and follow company policies and licensing standards. The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off, from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. The shift is asleep from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and awake from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. The listed base rate is $25.00 per hour. A $2.00-per-hour weekend differential applies to hours between Friday at 10 p.m. and Sunday at 10 p.m.; a $1.00-per-hour overnight differential applies between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sleep hours are paid at $12.41 per hour when assigned.
