About The Position

The Youth Counselor supports young people experiencing mental health crises in children’s crisis settings. The service is intended to support youth in the community rather than having them live in a hospital, hotel, or detention center. The role also supports youth in identifying triggers, developing coping strategies, stabilizing, and transitioning to a long-term living option. The position provides person-centered care and works in coordination with the youth’s support network, coworkers, and program team. Responsibilities include medication administration and documentation, healthcare coordination, maintaining a safe and clean home, and meeting relevant company policies and licensing standards. Counselors may cross-train at multiple crisis programs to support staffing and youth needs. The schedule is seven days on and seven days off, from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. The stated hourly base rate is $25.00, with overnight and weekend differentials; assigned sleep hours are paid at $12.41 per hour. A $1,500 retention bonus is offered for full-time employees, paid over one year.
