About The Position

Rite of Passage is hiring a Youth Care Worker at Pompano Youth Academy in Pompano Beach, Florida. Pompano Youth Academy is a residential commitment program for at-risk female youth, providing comprehensive care, treatment, supervision, and evidence-based intensive mental health services. Youth also receive individual, family, and group counseling.

The Youth Care Worker helps create a positive, safe, and supportive environment for the youth served. The role includes providing security and supervision, monitoring and documenting behavior, participating in sports and recreation activities, and assisting and mentoring youth as they learn and develop within the program. Staff work 12-hour shifts. Pay is $19 per hour. Eligible employees can receive a $1,000 Essential Skills Training Incentive after successfully completing required training within their first 90 days of employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience working with at-risk youth in a direct care position, or 60 hours of college education.
• Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour security and supervision to help ensure the safety of youth.
• Monitor and document youth behaviors.
• Monitor and join youth during sports and recreation time.
• Assist and mentor youth as they learn and develop within the program.
• Help create a positive, safe, and supportive environment for youth.
