Day Youth Care Worker - PT
About The Position
Rite of Passage is hiring a part-time Youth Care Worker at Pompano Youth Academy in Pompano Beach, Florida. Pompano Youth Academy is a residential commitment program for at-risk female youth, providing comprehensive care, treatment, supervision, and evidence-based intensive mental health services, including individual, family, and group counseling. The Youth Care Worker provides security and supervision to help ensure youth safety, monitors and documents behaviors, participates in sports and recreation activities with youth, and assists and mentors youth as they learn and develop within the program. Staff work 12-hour shifts. The position offers an opportunity to create a positive, safe, and supportive environment for youth.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience working with at-risk youth in a direct care position, or 60 hours of college education.
- Driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Provide security and supervision to ensure the safety of youth.
- Monitor and document youth behaviors.
- Monitor and join youth during sports and recreation time.
- Assist and mentor youth as they learn and develop within the program.
- Help create a positive, safe, and supportive environment for youth.
