This Per Diem Youth Apprenticeship - Phlebotomist position is located in Beloit, WI. The Youth Apprentice will be involved in day-to-day tasks to support healthcare professionals, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to the overall patient care experience.

Requirements

• Must be a current High School Student, 16 years of age or older
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a healthcare environment

Nice To Haves

• Basic understanding of medical terminology helpful

Responsibilities

• apply infection prevention controls, standard precautions and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
• perform capillary collection
• collect non-blood specimens
• perform venipuncture
• process specimens
• comply with legal regulations
• assist with performing Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waived tests
• maintain safe environment
• maintain specimen integrity
