About The Position

Alliance Laundry is hiring Youth Apprentice's in partnership with CESA and the Department of Workforce Development. This Engineering Youth Apprentice role is based at Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon, WI. The position focuses on learning introductory concepts in Engineering, specifically product engineering, including design for manufacturing and design for automation to optimize the efficiency of manufacturability of machines in the Ripon manufacturing facility. The role also involves the development and life testing of products to measure performance, assisting with the development of new designs, testing reliability, and writing formal lab reports that include test procedures, equipment, raw data, summarized results, conclusions, and recommendations. Apprentices will gain experience with various technologies through a Crawl-Walk-Run approach, involving job shadowing, hands-on experience, and team participation on industrial automation projects.

Responsibilities

• Completing 450 hours of work in a year timeframe
• Meeting each of the skills standards as outlined by the State of Wisconsin
• Learning introductory concepts in Engineering with the focus on product engineering, including design for manufacturing and design for automation to optimize the efficiency of manufacturability of our machines
• Focusing on the development and life testing of products to measure performance
• Assisting with development of new designs and test reliability
• Writing formal lab reports to include test procedures, equipment, raw data, summarized results, conclusion, and recommendations
• Getting experience with technologies using a Crawl-Walk-Run approach with job shadowing, hands-on experience, and team participation on industrial automation projects
