Youth Apprenticeship - Certified Nursing Assistant
About The Position
Beloit Health System is seeking a motivated Youth Apprentice to join our Special Care Oncology Unit as a Certified Nursing Assistant. This per diem position offers a flexible schedule and is ideal for a current high school student, aged 16 or older, who is interested in gaining hands-on healthcare experience. The apprentice will support healthcare professionals, contribute to patient care, and learn essential skills under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. This role emphasizes infection prevention, patient comfort, and compassionate care within a community-focused health system.
Requirements
- Must be a current High School Student, 16 years of age or older
- Current WI CNA
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a healthcare environment
Nice To Haves
- Basic understanding of medical terminology helpful
Responsibilities
- Apply infection prevention controls and standard precautions.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Assist in providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction and supervision of a RN or physician.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Provide for personal care.
- Provide emotional support.
- Perform clinical skills under the direction of a RN.
