About The Position

UTMB is accepting applications for our Certified Nursing Assistant Apprenticeship Program, Cohort 15. This program offers full-time employment and benefits as a Hospital Aide, with a minimum starting wage of $15/hour and progressive increases during the first year. Participants will receive paid on-the-job learning and classroom instruction approved by Texas Health and Human Services, along with a full year of mentorship from clinical instructors and experienced Patient Care Technicians. Upon successful completion of the training, apprentices will be promoted to Patient Care Technician and become eligible to register for the CNA exam.

Requirements

  • Age 18 or older
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including prolonged standing and lifting more than 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Participate in paid on-the-job learning and classroom instruction approved by Texas Health and Human Services.
  • Receive mentorship by clinical instructors and experienced Patient Care Technicians for a full year.
  • Upon successful completion of the training, be promoted to Patient Care Technician.
  • Become eligible to register for the CNA exam upon successful completion of the training.
