About The Position

Professional Services Group is now hiring for the part-time Youth and Adult Support / Rehabilitation Specialist! PSG is a community-based social services organization dedicated to helping individuals and families through dynamic and innovative programming. We are seeking a part-time Youth and Adult Support / Rehabilitation Specialist to join our CCS Ancillary Services program. The Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) Ancillary Services program uses goal-oriented interventions to support both youth and adult consumers who are struggling in various aspects of their lives. The Youth and Adult Support / Rehabilitation Specialist works within a multidisciplinary team to provide goal-oriented, community-based interventions for youth and adults referred through Comprehensive Community Services (CCS). As the Youth and Adult Support / Rehabilitation Specialist, you will work with consumers to support recovery and skill development, with a focus on strengthening family dynamics through parent coaching and psychoeducation.

Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
  • A completed Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related is required.
  • Previous experience working with youth and adults with mental illness and/or substance use disorders is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide parent coaching through mentorship and behavior modification coaching to parents to enhance their parenting skills and strengthen parent-child relationships
  • Provide rehabilitative psychoeducation through skills training and informational resources to help consumers and their families understand and manage mental health or substance use conditions.
  • Analyze the consumer's capabilities, strengths, and challenges to determine the services required to meet their unique needs.
  • Create recovery plan goals in collaboration with team members, other agency providers, and natural supports.
  • Exercise judgement to intervene as an advocate for the consumer in the community and as part of their recovery team.
  • Attend recovery team meetings as needed.
  • Organize and facilitate individual meetings and structured rehabilitation activities that assist consumers in developing pro-social skills and connections.
