About The Position

Restore Child and Youth Care is an Alberta organization established to support vulnerable children and youth primarily between 0-17 years, but also after that age, by providing them with a protective, stable, caring, and supportive home environment. Our program operates by matching the needs of the individual children and youths with resources that meet their needs. Increased emotional stability, improved behavioral functioning and social interaction are a top priority for our management and staff. While our clients may need extra support and assistance, we are also aware that such services must and should respect their rights, dignity, autonomy, comfort, and safety. These aspects are central to our operations at Restore Child and Youth Care. We aim to foster an atmosphere of care and support, enabling our clients to live as full, fulfilled, and independent lifestyles as possible. Requirements

  • Related post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • An understanding of issues related to adverse childhood experiences.
  • Experience working with marginalized youth
  • Communication and relationship skills
  • Crisis prevention and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be trauma informed.
  • Successful undertaking of a Calgary Police Information Check (CPIC) and a Child Welfare Information System [CWIS] check.

  • Trauma Informed Care (TIC) Certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, support and supervision to children and youth in care
  • Maintain a creative and sensitive approach in meeting the needs of children and youth in care
  • Complete all documentation and writer case notes
  • Attend to cleaning and meal preparation.
  • Role model healthy behavior for children and youth in care
  • Provide support to children and youth in developing independent living skills
  • Attend routine staff meeting
