About The Position

The Yoga Studies Continuing Education Program is seeking outstanding and enthusiastic applicants to serve as Continuing Education (CE) Educators and Subject Matter Specialists. This program offers fully accredited continuing education courses in various yoga disciplines, including yoga practice, yoga philosophy, and related fields. These courses are designed to prepare aspiring yoga teachers and provide current educators with advanced skills. Courses are available in in-person, online, and hybrid formats. CE Educators will be responsible for delivering course content, documenting the learning experience, providing digital evaluations, conducting team meetings, facilitating student learning of course competencies, and supporting the overall learning environment in alignment with the program's mission. The role also involves fostering a culture of learning that emphasizes mutual responsibility, respect, lifelong learning, ethics, and personal/professional development grounded in yoga principles and traditions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience teaching yoga, yoga philosophy, or a related discipline.
  • Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral), evidenced by experience preparing comprehensive reports and evaluations.
  • Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated computer competency, knowledge of relevant systems, and willingness to learn digital platforms used in course delivery and evaluation, including video conferencing and learning management systems.
  • A valid 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification registered with Yoga Alliance (RYT-200) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • RYT-500 or advanced certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of yoga philosophy, history, or a related specialized area is strongly preferred depending on course assignment.
  • Incumbents will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of changes in yoga education standards, ethics, and program policy.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver, guide, and mentor students in accordance with the Yoga Studies CE Program and LMU mission.
  • Articulate the program's core educational framework to facilitate students' mastery of course competencies across all delivery formats.
  • Engage continuously with students during course sessions, discussions, and learning activities (in-person, online, or hybrid).
  • Provide documentation of the learning experience using the Observation Record, with reflective feedback for each session.
  • Offer comments and reflective feedback on course assignments and student-submitted materials.
  • Complete an electronic Formative Evaluation at the midpoint of the course and an electronic Summative Evaluation at its conclusion.
  • Guide students through the reflection process, including collecting student self-assessment comments on their learning and development.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, Fieldwork Coordinator, and other program partners to ensure cohesive course delivery across all modalities.
  • Attend all informational and professional development meetings throughout each course term via Zoom or in person as required.
