Yield Enhancement Execution Engineer (SM1)

Texas Instruments•Sherman, TX

About The Position

Texas Instruments is seeking a self-directed, highly motivated engineer to join the Yield Enhancement team at SMFAB. The role focuses on continually improving procedures and processes and supporting safe, defect-free wafer manufacturing operations. The engineer plans and executes daily operations to resolve line bottlenecks and support internal customer inspection needs, while proceduralizing lot disposition work with attention to documentation and quality control. The position uses inspection-platform expertise and defect-sourcing methods to identify root causes, improve manufacturing methods and processes, and support production flow in a high-volume 300mm wafer fab running Analog Technologies. The engineer also implements improvement plans for efficiency, cost, quality, new-product support, and other process improvements. The role involves lot and equipment dispositions, identifying systematic process or equipment problems, supporting manufacturing ramps through equipment and process startups and process experiments (SWRs), and collaborating with engineering and manufacturing departments on data analysis and problem resolution.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong foundation in statistical process control, engineering change control, and process release strategies.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with defect inspection recipe writing and inspection setup.
  • Ability to fetch and manipulate large amounts of data quickly and familiarity with SAS.
  • Proficiency in AI-enabled workflows.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive for results.

Responsibilities

  • Support Yield Enhancement operations to keep the wafer manufacturing line safe and free of defects.
  • Plan and execute daily operations to resolve line bottlenecks and support internal customer inspection needs.
  • Proceduralize lot disposition for engineering technician efforts, maintaining focus on documentation and quality control.
  • Use inspection-platform expertise and defect-sourcing methodologies to perform defect partitions and determine root causes.
  • Develop and implement improved manufacturing methods, procedures, and processes to improve efficiency, yield, machine operations, and quality.
  • Implement project or improvement plans, including efficiency improvements, cost reduction, quality improvement programs, new-product support, and other process improvements.
  • Perform lot and equipment dispositions to support continuous production flow and minimize cycle time in a high-volume 300mm wafer fab running Analog Technologies.
  • Identify systematic problems related to process or equipment sources and communicate findings to engineering staff.
  • Support manufacturing ramps by executing equipment and process startup and process experiments (SWRs).
  • Participate in data analysis and problem resolution with engineering and manufacturing departments.
