About The Position

The Yard Worker performs assigned duties in the yard to support quality customer service. The role involves preparing and loading customer and company vehicle orders, handling and organizing lumber and building materials, operating a forklift, maintaining inventory, and making deliveries as needed. The position also includes removing and shoveling snow from material piles and the yard during winter months. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with rotational Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pay range is based on total compensation.

Requirements

Prior lumber yard experience required.
Prior building materials experience required.
Customer service skills.
Basic math skills.
Basic reading skills.
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
Forklift certification/license.

Forklift and equipment experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

Load company vehicles according to delivery invoices, including lifting and carrying merchandise, lumber, and building materials.
Prepare customer orders by retrieving merchandise and materials from storage areas according to customer invoices.
Operate a forklift to load, unload, and stock merchandise as needed.
Put away product and keep lumber piles neat and organized.
Follow all approved company policies and procedures.
Report customer complaints to the Manager or Officers.
Inventory goods and notify the Manager of shortages.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Remove and shovel snow from material piles and the yard during winter months.
Make deliveries as needed.
