About The Position

The Yard Switcher is responsible for safely and efficiently moving trailers and containers within a designated yard or terminal. This role helps organize transportation flows and ensure goods are transferred on time. The position involves coordinating with dispatchers and yard personnel, inspecting equipment, keeping movement records, following safety procedures, communicating with team members, and helping maintain an organized yard.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Proven experience operating yard switcher equipment or similar vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to yard operations.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Operate yard switcher equipment to move trailers and containers to specified locations.
• Coordinate with dispatchers and other yard personnel to prioritize and execute trailer movements.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard switcher equipment and report any issues.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer locations, arrivals, and departures.
• Follow safety regulations and procedures, including proper coupling and uncoupling of trailers.
• Communicate with truck drivers, warehouse staff, and other team members.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the yard.
