About The Position

Arch Materials, an underground limestone mine/quarry in Batavia, Ohio, is hiring a full-time, day-shift Yard Loader Operator. The role operates a front-end loader to load customer trucks with crushed stone, gravel, sand, and other materials as directed by management. The operator provides customer service, follows MSHA and company safety policies, inspects and checks equipment, reports mechanical issues, documents sales and load tickets, and maintains organized, accessible stockpiles. The employee may also be assigned other quarry duties or assist in other areas as needed.

Wages start at $25 per hour. Overall compensation depends on the candidate’s experience and skill set. Requirements

• Commitment to operating safely at all times.
• Willingness to perform any task required at the quarry.
• Ability to identify equipment maintenance issues and alert management.
• Ability to complete pre-operation inspection paperwork.
• Ability to repeatedly climb ladders or stairs to access or dismount equipment.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods.
• Ability to shovel rock and lift buckets or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
• Team-player attitude.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional, and thorough customer service.
• Work safely and follow all MSHA and company safety policies.
• Safely operate a front-end loader to load customer trucks with crushed stone, gravel, sand, and other materials as directed by management.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks, and promptly report mechanical issues.
• Follow load limits, material weights, and safe loading practices.
• Complete sales tickets, load sheets, or scale tickets according to company processes.
• Maintain organized stockpiles and ensure materials are clearly marked and accessible.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or assist in other areas as necessary.
