About The Position

The Yard Leadman oversees daily yard operations at CMC, including staging, loading, and unloading materials; maintaining an organized layout for efficient traffic flow and storage; and coordinating with dispatch and production to support timely product delivery. The role involves operating material-handling equipment and ensuring its safe, proper use and maintenance, tracking inventory, inspecting incoming and outgoing products, and maintaining accurate records of yard activities, shipments, and inventory movements. The position also supports compliance with safety standards, including proper PPE and equipment use. The work requires being outdoors in varying weather conditions. Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in yard, warehouse, or material handling roles.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment and safe yard operations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams.
• Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills for tracking materials and maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• High school diploma or GED required.

• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily yard operations, including staging, loading, and unloading materials.
• Maintain an organized yard layout to support efficient traffic flow and storage.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and cranes, and ensure the team uses it safely and properly.
• Coordinate with dispatch and production to support timely delivery of products.
• Track inventory and report discrepancies or material shortages.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing products for quality and accuracy.
• Monitor yard equipment, such as forklifts and cranes, to ensure proper maintenance and safe operation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper PPE and equipment use.
• Maintain accurate documentation of yard activities, shipments, and inventory movements.
