About The Position

CMC is hiring a Yard Leadman to oversee daily yard operations and support the safe, organized, and efficient movement of materials. The role includes staging, loading, and unloading products; maintaining the yard layout; operating material-handling equipment; coordinating with dispatch and production; tracking inventory; and inspecting products and equipment. The Yard Leadman also maintains accurate records and ensures the team follows safety standards, including appropriate PPE and equipment use. The position involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in yard, warehouse, or material-handling roles.
• Knowledge of material-handling equipment and safe yard operations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams.
• Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills for tracking materials and maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily yard operations, including staging, loading, and unloading materials.
• Maintain an organized yard layout to support efficient traffic flow and storage.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and cranes, and ensure the team uses it safely and properly.
• Coordinate with dispatch and production to support timely product delivery.
• Track inventory and report discrepancies or material shortages.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing products for quality and accuracy.
• Monitor yard equipment, including forklifts and cranes, to ensure proper maintenance and safe operation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper PPE and equipment use.
• Maintain accurate documentation of yard activities, shipments, and inventory movements.
