About The Position

The Yard Jockey moves trailers to and from dock doors according to instructions from supervisors or the shipping office, following regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. The role ensures trailers are clean and adequately fueled, performs inspections of the spotter truck and equipment, and maintains records of trailer movements and fuel. The position is scheduled Wednesday through Saturday, beginning at 3 PM. The posting lists pay of $20–$23 per hour depending on experience and also gives a pay range of $19.18–$32.40 per hour. Requirements

At least 6 months of experience operating tractor trailers and/or heavy equipment.
Ability to understand instructions in the country’s official language or as defined by Lineage Logistics.
Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs./18 kg; required weight may be greater depending on the facility.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

Move trailers to and from dock doors based on instructions from supervisors or the shipping office while following regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
Ensure trailers are clean and adequately fueled.
Check and set trailer and yard temperatures; add fuel when needed.
Perform daily inspections of the spotter truck and equipment.
Report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles or equipment.
Maintain logs of trailer movements and fuel.
Communicate with appropriate departments about daily trailer movements.
Check trailer inventory and report irregularities on log forms.
Perform sanitation duties on trailers as assigned.
