About The Position

The Yard Jockey moves trailers to and from dock doors based on instructions from supervisors or the shipping office while following regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. The role helps ensure trailers are clean and adequately fueled and supports daily trailer and yard operations. The listed shift is Wednesday through Saturday, starting at 3 PM. Requirements

At least 6 months of experience operating tractor trailers and/or heavy equipment.
Ability to understand instructions in the country’s official language or as defined by Lineage Logistics.
Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs./18 kgs.; the required weight may be higher depending on the facility.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and shift, including weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

Move trailers to and from dock doors as directed by supervisors or the shipping office, following safety standards and procedures.
Check and set trailer and yard temperatures; add fuel when needed.
Perform daily inspections of the spotter truck and equipment.
Report defects, accidents, traffic violations, and vehicle or equipment damage.
Maintain logs of trailer movements and fuel.
Communicate with appropriate departments about daily trailer movements.
Check trailer inventory and report irregularities on log forms.
Perform assigned trailer sanitation duties.
Maintain trailer cleanliness and adequate fuel levels.
