About The Position

The Yard Jockey maneuvers trailers around the yard, backs them into loading docks and parking slips, opens bay doors, prepares trailers, and assists with loading and unloading products. The role follows safety protocols, performs safety checks, operates equipment safely, and maintains equipment, tools, and machinery. The position requires availability for any shift, with a schedule of four 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid Class A driver’s license.
• Must have 0 to 1+ years of specific driving experience.
• Must be able to lift products weighing 25 to 50 pounds regularly and up to 170 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).

Responsibilities

• Maneuver and back trailers into loading docks.
• Open bay doors, prepare trailers, and assist with loading and unloading product.
• Maneuver trailers into parking slips to prevent traffic backups in the yard.
• Follow safety protocols, including performing safety checks to secure trailers and operating equipment safely and professionally.
• Use other warehouse equipment to help load products into trailers.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, tools, and machinery to keep them clean and in good working condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
