About The Position

The Yard Jockey Driver moves trailers to and from dock doors according to instructions from supervisors or the shipping office, following regulatory and company safety standards, policies, and procedures. The role also ensures trailers are clean and adequately fueled. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. The position offers an opportunity to begin a career path at Lineage, with the potential for greater responsibilities and promotions as employees learn the business and contribute to customer service and company growth.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience operating tractor trailers and/or heavy equipment.
Ability to understand instructions in the country’s official language or as defined by Lineage Logistics.
Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs./18 kgs.; weight may be greater depending on the facility.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and shift, including weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

Check and set trailer and yard temperatures, and add fuel when needed.
Perform daily inspections of the spotter truck and equipment.
Report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles or equipment.
Maintain logs of trailer movements and fuel.
Communicate with appropriate departments about daily trailer movements.
Check trailer inventory and report irregularities on log forms.
Perform assigned trailer sanitation duties.
Move trailers to and from dock doors according to supervisor or shipping-office instructions while following safety standards and procedures.
Maintain trailer cleanliness and adequate fueling.
