About The Position

The Yard Jockey moves tractor-trailer trucks and trailers around the loading area, spots incoming trucks, and assists with loading and unloading as needed to help product flow to and from the processing plant. This is an individual-contributor role with no supervisory responsibilities. The role requires following company and departmental safety policies, wearing required personal protective equipment where mandatory, and supporting a zero-accident culture. The employee may also perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience driving tractor-trailer trucks.
• CDL license in good standing and insurance.
• DOT certification.
• Ability to be forklift-certifiable.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally and promptly with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to handle and resolve most issues efficiently and effectively, while relaying confidential information only on a need-to-know basis.
• Strong organizational and planning skills, ability to prioritize projects, and attention to detail.
• Customer-centric attitude, high energy level, and strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment at 45°F (4°C).
• Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to work around noise above 85 decibels, CO2, and moving production.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Multilingual ability strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move tractor-trailer trucks and trailers around the yard for loading and unloading.
• Spot incoming trucks and relay information to the dock.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed to support product flow to and from the processing plant.
• Identify opportunities for improvement, present them to the appropriate leader, and implement, lead, or participate in solutions.
• Wear required personal protective equipment in areas where it is mandatory.
• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
