About The Position

GFL Environmental is hiring a full-time Yard Helper in Fredericksburg to help keep yard facilities safe, organized, and operating smoothly. The role involves outdoor yard maintenance, inventory support, handling damaged cans and equipment, and assisting with general site needs. The position offers stable, year-round hours, Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM, at $20.00 per hour. Weekends are off. Forklift experience is a plus, and the employer is willing to train the right candidate.

Requirements

• Previous yard work, warehouse, or manual labor experience is preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 65 pounds, or push up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a safety-focused approach.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required; candidates must provide documentation confirming eligibility to work before their start date.
• Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, safe, and organized yard facilities, including power-washing cans, mowing, picking up trash, and performing general upkeep.
• Help maintain accurate inventory of cans, parts, and yard equipment.
• Stage broken or damaged cans using a forklift and operate site vehicles and equipment, such as pickup trucks, sweepers, and trimming equipment, as needed.
• Clean vehicle tracks, fuel trucks and equipment, and report basic maintenance needs.
• Assist with basic office repairs and janitorial tasks.
• Direct traffic on-site.
• Follow safety protocols to protect yourself and teammates.
• Safely assist drivers and other employees in collecting solid waste materials from a residential truck.
