About The Position

The Yard Duty/Noon Duty Aide is responsible for patrolling school grounds, playgrounds, corridors, restrooms, and adjacent areas to enforce district rules and regulations concerning student conduct, safety, and behavior. This role involves monitoring and supervising students during brunch and/or lunch periods, preparing necessary follow-up paperwork, interceding in and resolving student disagreements, and escorting students as needed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of approved techniques and methods of youth supervision.
  • Ability to read and write at a level sufficient to perform required duties.
  • Ability to learn District rules and regulations pertaining to student behavior and conduct on campus.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
  • Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment in dealing with students.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol school grounds, playgrounds, corridors, restrooms and adjacent areas for the purpose of enforcing district rules and regulations as they pertain to student conduct, safety and behavior.
  • Monitor and supervise students in and around eating areas during brunch and/or lunch periods.
  • Prepare necessary follow-up paperwork for documentation and actions taken as designated by procedures.
  • Intercede in and resolve student disagreements.
  • Escort students to class or to proper administrative office as needed.
