About The Position

Supervise students during their lunch period to ensure the safety and welfare of students during non-classroom activities. This role is part of the 2026-2027 school year at Cielo Azul Elementary School. The position is hourly and non-union. All positions with Santa Fe Public Schools require a post-offer/pre-employment background check, and some positions may have additional requirements.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Ability to use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Ability to lift, carry, push up to 40 pounds.
• Physical strength and ability to assist injured students.
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
• Demonstrates reliability as evidenced by attendance records and punctuality.
• Properly notifies supervisor and/or designee of absences or tardiness.
• Begins and completes work within the allotted time.
• Consistently appears in attire appropriate to the work environment.
• Demonstrates skill in the use of equipment including its capabilities, limitations and appropriate/ special application.
• Protects the district’s resources through appropriate and careful use of supplies and equipment.
• Utilizes appropriate body mechanics to aid in the prevention of muscle strain/injury.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order in groups of children.
• Handle any problems that arise.
• Communicate observations and incidents that may impact a student's development or the general well-being of other school personnel.
• Performs all functions in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, facility and computer security policies and procedures.
