About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Yard Associate, also described as a Porter / Yard Worker. The role stations and retrieves equipment on the location’s property, maintains a written maintenance schedule, and may service equipment as necessary to ensure it meets specifications. The Yard Associate inspects equipment before and after rentals to document lost or damaged equipment. This is a safety-focused, fast-paced role with opportunities to advance into mechanic, driver, or customer service positions.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- General mechanical aptitude.
- Safety-focused approach.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 50 pounds or more.
- Work indoors or outdoors as required by the job.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred.
- Some experience and/or training in repairing mechanical equipment preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
