Y Store Cashier (Full-Time)
About The Position
The Cashier provides quality customer service by greeting customers, generating sales, merchandising, operating the cash register, and preventing loss in accordance with company standards. The position is in the Y Store and reports to the Y Store Manager. It is classified as non-exempt, Pay Grade 1, and Non-Compact/Non-Gaming. The application is open until filled. The work environment is fast-paced and requires overall good mental and physical health. The Bois Forte Band gives hiring, promotion, and departmental-transfer preference to qualified Native Americans pursuant to tribal and federal law, including Bois Forte Band members, members of other federally recognized tribes, and status Natives born in Canada.
Requirements
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for long hours.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion from use of a cash register.
- Ability to crouch, crawl, and kneel.

Responsibilities
- Welcome customers to the store.
- Answer questions about products.
- Operate cash registers to process sales.
- Complete all sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Check in deliveries.
- Stock and front face the store.
- Brew coffee.
- Operate the pizza oven and deep fryer.
- Scoop ice cream.
- Scoop minnows and package leeches and crawlers.
- Shovel and sweep sidewalks.
- Clean pump islands.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
