About The Position

The Network News team at TelevisaUnivision is seeking a Writer to support the daily production of news programs, including newscasts and special coverage. The role involves editing news copy, translating content between English and Spanish, checking graphics and supers for spelling, and responding quickly to breaking news and potential show updates. The schedule is flexible and includes weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communication or journalism, or equivalent experience.
• Strong news judgment.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Ability to react quickly to breaking news.
• Ability to think outside the box and take charge of situations.
• Two years’ experience writing.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, including reading and writing.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on the daily production of news programs, including newscasts and special coverage.
• Copy-edit news stories, including correspondents’ scripts.
• Translate content aptly from English to Spanish.
• Revise spelling for graphics and supers.
• React quickly to breaking news and possible show news updates.
