About The Position

The Writer joins TelevisaUnivision’s Network News team and supports the daily production of news programs, including newscasts and special coverage. The role involves copy-editing news stories and correspondents’ scripts, translating appropriately from English to Spanish, and reviewing spelling in graphics and supers. The Writer must react quickly to breaking news and potential show updates. The schedule is flexible and includes weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communication or journalism, or equivalent experience.
• Strong news judgment.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Ability to react quickly to breaking news.
• Ability to think outside the box and take charge of situations.
• Two years’ experience writing.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, including reading and writing.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on the daily production of news programs, including newscasts and special coverage.
• Copy-edit news stories, including correspondents’ scripts.
• Translate appropriately from English to Spanish.
• Review spelling in graphics and supers.
• React quickly to breaking news and possible show news updates.
