About The Position

The Writer will join TelevisaUnivision’s Network News team and support the daily production of news programs, including newscasts and special coverage. The role includes copy-editing news stories and correspondents’ scripts, translating content from English to Spanish, and checking spelling on graphics and supers. The Writer must react quickly to breaking news and potential program updates, and work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communication or journalism, or equivalent experience.
• Strong news judgment.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Ability to react quickly to breaking news.
• Ability to think outside the box and take charge of situations.
• Two years’ experience writing.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, including reading and writing.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support daily production of news programs, including newscasts and special coverage.
• Copy-edit news stories, including correspondents’ scripts.
• Translate content from English to Spanish.
• Revise spelling for graphics and supers.
• React quickly to breaking news and possible show news updates.
