About The Position

The Wrapline Worker at Vanguard Furniture supports the upholstery production process by preparing and wrapping furniture frames and components to meet the company’s craftsmanship and quality standards. The role ensures that each piece is properly padded, protected, and ready for final upholstery or finishing. The worker follows build specifications and production instructions, checks frames and materials for quality, and prepares wrapped frames for upholsterers. The position also supports production flow and collaborates with other departments while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Ability to follow build specifications and production instructions.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Ability to lift and handle furniture frames and materials up to 50 pounds individually; items over 50 pounds require team lifting.
Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

Wrap furniture frames using foam, batting, and other upholstery materials according to specifications and build standards.
Apply materials smoothly and securely to ensure proper shape, comfort, and durability.
Follow work orders, build sheets, and supervisor instructions for custom and standard products.
Inspect frames and materials before wrapping to ensure they meet quality expectations.
Identify and report defects in frames, materials, or previous production stages.
Prepare wrapped frames for upholsterers by ensuring proper padding, alignment, and material placement.
Use materials appropriately to minimize waste, especially with high-end fabrics and components.
Stage, stack, and move frames along the wrapline to support efficient production flow.
Collaborate with upholsterers and the sewing and frame departments to support workflow.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company policies.
Use open-flame propane torches safely to avoid personal injury or furniture defects.
Use designated personal protective equipment.
