About The Position

Community Hospital is seeking a part-time Wound Care Nurse (RN) for an inpatient position. This role involves conducting thorough assessments of patients with wounds, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, performing wound dressing changes using aseptic techniques, educating patients and caregivers on wound care, and monitoring wound healing progress. The nurse will also monitor for signs of infection or complications that may impact recovery. The position requires relocation to Grand Junction, CO 81505 before starting work and is an in-person/onsite role.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least two (2) years of MedicalSurgical nursing (or equivalent).
Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in Colorado.
Current certification by Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNB) as a CWOCN, WCN, CWON, or COCN required.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough assessments of patients with wounds, evaluating the type, size, depth, and condition of the wound.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the specific needs of each patient and the characteristics of their wounds.
Perform wound dressing changes using aseptic techniques to minimize the risk of infection.
Educate patients and their caregivers on proper wound care techniques, including wound cleansing, dressing changes, and signs of infection.
Regularly assess and reassess the progress of wound healing, adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
Monitor for signs of infection, complications, or changes in the patient's overall health that may impact wound recovery.
