About The Position

D’Youville Life & Wellness Community is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse specializing in wound care. The community is a 208-bed facility with an 84-bed Special Care Dementia Unit serving Greater Lowell and surrounding communities. The position is 24 hours per week and pays $39 to $42.90 per hour. The Wound Care Nurse ensures skin assessments and care plans are completed, monitors treatments and preventive measures, coordinates referrals and communication about skin issues, and works with wound care specialists and DME suppliers. Requirements

Current licensure in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Minimum of 2 years of wound care experience in a nursing home.

Nice To Haves

Wound Care Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure completion of skin assessments assigned to charge nurses.
Review admission skin assessments.
Inform necessary departments of new or worsening skin issues.
Ensure necessary referrals are made.
Round with the wound care specialist.
Ensure high-risk residents have interventions and preventive measures in place.
Correspond with DME suppliers to ensure equipment and supplies are ordered and delivered, and pickups are arranged timely.
Ensure acute care plans are completed according to policy.
Ensure, assess, and monitor that appropriate treatments are in place.
