Summer Staff Redwood Camp Worship Leader/Trading Post Operator
About The Position
The Redwood Camp Worship Leader / Trading Post Operator leads and encourages a love and appreciation of worship through music among staff and campers, nurturing an environment of spiritual growth through guided worship. The role also works at the trading post during operating hours. Duties are performed in a manner consistent with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s mission, vision, and values. This is a ministerial position. Ministerial staff are expected to demonstrate their Christian faith through their work, stewardship, relationships, and behavior, and to affirm MHA’s Christian mission, vision, beliefs, culture code, and standards of conduct. Staff are expected to participate in gatherings that include prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- CPR and First Aid certified.
- Ability to play guitar and lead students in musical worship in a relevant and interactive manner.
- Love for youth of all ages and ability to serve as a strong Christian role model.
- Passion for worship and leading primary youth in group singing.
- Mature understanding of and respect for authority, peers, camp guidelines, and principles.
- Ability to teach with patience and clear instruction.
- Self-starter and creative.
- Ability to manage sales and inventory.
- At least 18 years of age due to the onsite community-living requirement.
- Adherence to MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Commitment statements, as well as its dress code and professional standards for grooming and appearance.
- Satisfactory completion of a background investigation and ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Some college experience.
- Prior experience leading worship.
Responsibilities
- Lead, organize, and manage the Redwood Camp worship program and campfires in collaboration with the RWC Program Lead.
- Teach songs and accompanying hand motions or dancing to staff and campers to promote enthusiasm for worship.
- Inventory and care for sound and video equipment, and set it up and tear it down as needed.
- Prepare slides for worship sets.
- Work at the trading post when not performing worship duties.
- Stock the trading post and operate it during operating hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
