Summer Staff Redwood Camp Worship Leader/Trading Post Operator
About The Position
The Redwood Camp Worship Leader/Trading Post Operator leads and encourages a love and appreciation of worship through music among staff and campers, helping nurture an environment of spiritual growth through guided worship. The role also works at the Trading Post during its operating hours. Duties are carried out in a manner consistent with Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s mission, vision, and values. This is a ministerial position. Ministerial staff are expected to demonstrate through their work, stewardship, relationships, and behavior that they follow Jesus Christ, while embracing and affirming MHA’s Christian mission, vision, beliefs, culture code, and standards of conduct. Staff are expected to participate in gatherings that include prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Ability to play guitar and lead students in relevant, interactive musical worship.
- Love for youth of all ages and ability to serve as a strong Christian role model.
- Passion for worship and leading primary youth in group singing.
- Mature understanding of and respect for authority, peers, camp guidelines, and principles.
- Ability to teach patiently and give clear instruction.
- Self-starter with creativity.
- Ability to manage sales and inventory.
- Must be at least 18 years of age because the position requires onsite community living.
- Adherence to MHA’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Commitment statements, as well as company dress code and professional grooming standards.
- Satisfactory completion of a background investigation and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Some college experience.
- Prior experience leading worship.
Responsibilities
- Lead, organize, and manage the Redwood Camp worship program and campfires in collaboration with the RWC Program Lead.
- Teach songs and accompanying hand motions or dancing to staff and campers to encourage enthusiastic worship.
- Inventory and care for sound and video equipment, and set it up and take it down as needed.
- Prepare slides for worship sets.
- Work at the Trading Post when not performing worship duties.
- Stock and operate the Trading Post during operating hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
