Then the Workplace Consultant could be the right fit for you! The Workplace Consultant is responsible for meeting / exceeding Workspace furniture sales and gross profit goals by calling on and identifying sales opportunities with existing and/or qualified clients over the phone or in person, assessing clients’ needs and providing solutions; manages customer projects collaborating with the Design, Sales Services and Furniture Operations teams, ensuring all aspects of projects are satisfactorily met and a positive customer experience is delivered; works closely with clients facilitating their requests and resolving issues; maintains ongoing professional relationships and communications with client accounts.

Requirements

  • Two years of sales experience
  • Valid driver’s license required

  • office furniture/products experience or related industry knowledge preferred
  • Strong consultative selling, client relationship, presentation, negotiation, project management, cross-functional collaboration, organization, communication, follow-through, and problem-solving skills
  • ability to prepare accurate quotes/proposals, maintain pipeline and account reporting, and specify products

Responsibilities

  • Actively increase sales from existing customers and develop new business from qualified prospects in the furniture market to achieve growth and profitability goals.
  • Maintain client and prospective-client sales activity in the funnel system and update activity throughout each phase of the sales process.
  • Continuously contact existing and recently acquired clients in person, by phone, and by email to maintain or establish relationships and generate ongoing sales.
  • Assess client needs, provide professional solutions, conduct sales presentations and/or product demonstrations, prepare and present proposals, answer questions, and work closely with clients to close sales.
  • Promptly respond to client requests that generate sales opportunities and projects.
  • Serve as the primary client contact and lead on client projects, coordinating with Design, Sales Services, and Operations to ensure client needs and expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Troubleshoot issues, communicate additions and changes, and help ensure timelines are met and the customer experience is positive.
  • Create high-quality quotes, bids, and proposals and accurately specify products.
  • Collaborate with Leadership, Designers, Operations, and other Workspace team members to ensure customer needs are appropriately addressed; present proposals and consistently follow up with prospective clients to successfully close business.
  • Effectively leverage sales promotions, incentives, sample materials, and literature to maximize sales.
  • Provide regular progress updates and reports to leadership, including sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and other information as requested.
  • Maintain accurate client account records and sales activity information.
  • Stay current on industry trends, marketplace competition, furniture product changes and innovations; use relevant information and data to strengthen client communication, presentations, and sales strategy.
  • Participate in product training, sales skills development, and team meetings related to sales results, goal progress, strategic initiatives, and other business updates.
  • Other duties as assigned.
