About The Position

A Workover Rig Floorhand is responsible for all activities conducted on the workover rig floor by performing maintenance and repairs on oil & gas wells. This role involves operating equipment, handling pipe, assisting with rigging operations, and maintaining tools and the workover rig. The position requires participation in safety meetings and strict adherence to company and customer policies. The floorhand must be able to work in all weather conditions and report any incidents immediately.

• Must be able to communicate using oral and basic written communication
• Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol screening and participate in the random testing pool
• Must pass a background check and motor vehicle record check
• Arrange for reliable transportation to and from work
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous workover experience required
• Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

• Class A or B CDL preferred

Responsibilities

• Works with a three to five person crew performing maintenance and repairs on oil & gas wells
• Responsible for operating the mud pump, pipe wranglers, mixing fluids and performing equipment upkeep
• Picks up/lays down pipe and latches tubing in elevators
• Assists in loading and off-loading pipe and other items
• Manages tools on the workover rig floor and assists in daily maintenance
• Assists with rigging up and rigging down the workover rig
• Works in the shop or assists in NDES Yard maintenance when necessary
• Assists in repairs and preparing workover rig for deployment when necessary
• Attends and participates in daily and monthly safety meetings
• Understand and comply with company, customer, and health/safety policies, and any other regulations that are required
• Report any and all incidents immediately to Rig Supervisor
• Able to work in all weather conditions
• Performs other duties as directed by management
