Experienced Workover Rig Floorhand
About The Position
A Workover Rig Floorhand is responsible for activities conducted on the workover rig floor. The role works with a three- to five-person crew performing maintenance and repairs on oil and gas wells, and also assists with workover rig preparation, deployment, and upkeep. Work may include shop or NDES Yard maintenance when necessary. This is a full-time position that typically follows a 14-days-on/7-days-off rotation. It regularly requires long hours and weekend work, including holidays, as job duties demand. The work takes place outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, wind, and rain.
Requirements
- Previous workover experience is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to report to work on time and fit for duty.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and handle physically demanding work.
- Ability to communicate orally and through basic written communication.
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and participate in the random testing pool.
- Must pass a background check and motor vehicle record check.
- Must arrange reliable transportation to and from work.
Nice To Haves
- Class A or B CDL preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work with a three- to five-person crew performing maintenance and repairs on oil and gas wells.
- Operate the mud pump and pipe wranglers, mix fluids, and perform equipment upkeep.
- Pick up and lay down pipe and latch tubing in elevators.
- Assist with loading and off-loading pipe and other items.
- Manage tools on the workover rig floor and assist with daily maintenance.
- Assist with rigging up and rigging down the workover rig.
- Work in the shop or assist with NDES Yard maintenance when necessary.
- Assist with repairs and prepare the workover rig for deployment when necessary.
- Attend and participate in daily and monthly safety meetings.
- Understand and comply with company, customer, health and safety policies, and other required regulations.
- Report all incidents immediately to the Rig Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as directed by management.
