About The Position

The Floorhand safely performs drilling, tripping, rig-moving, and maintenance operations as directed. This posting is intended to build a talent pool for upcoming projects in the fall and winter. The role involves operating drill-floor equipment, preparing drill strings, assisting other rig crew members, maintaining equipment, and participating in safety and emergency activities. Work takes place in remote industrial settings, including onshore and offshore locations, with exposure to extreme weather and other job-site hazards. Employees must wear personal protective equipment while working.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of rig experience associated with this position.
NSTC (North Slope Training Certificate).
Valid driver’s license.

Alaska Remote On/Offshore experience.

Responsibilities

Adhere to company and customer policies, procedures, and programs.
Maintain clear and constant communication with the driller, crewmembers, and relief.
Operate drill-floor equipment, including iron roughnecks, rotary tongs, slips, elevators, floor winches, and casing power tongs.
Participate in safety initiatives, spill prevention, pre-job meetings, and hazard-recognition activities.
Participate in emergency drills.
Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on rig equipment and tools.
Prepare drill strings for operations.
Maintain the correct drill-string count during tripping and drilling operations in and out of the well.
Assist the Motorman, Derrickman, and Pitwatcher as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
