About The Position

Workforce Solutions at Laurel Ridge Community College is seeking instructors for its Corporate Training Team. These programs may cover a range of topics including Leadership Development, Human Resources, Strategic Planning, Assessment instruments & 360 Degree Feedback, Customer Service, Motivational Workshops, Lean and Process Improvement, Project Management, and Computer and software training. While teaching experience is not required, professional experience and appropriate certification are critical. Instructors are expected to be seasoned professionals who can share their knowledge and relevant experience. Students may be novices, partially trained, or experienced professionals at various career and supervisory levels. Teaching positions are primarily in-person, but may occasionally be hybrid. Classes can be offered during weekdays, weekday evenings, or weekends. These are contracted, part-time positions paid as an employee of the college. Classes may be held at the Middletown or Fauquier Campuses, the Luray-Page County Center, or off-site locations.

Requirements

  • Reside in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland or DC.
  • Professional experience and appropriate certification are critical.
  • Students expect to learn from seasoned professionals who can share their knowledge and relevant experience in the field.
  • Applicants are strongly encouraged to include a cover letter indicating availability and their area of teaching interest/knowledge/expertise and provide a resume of their experience if they have one.
  • Complete the state application and provide all pertinent professional information.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct in Corporate Training Programs for Workforce Solutions.
  • Share knowledge and relevant experience with students.
  • Teach in-person, and occasionally hybrid, classes.
  • Adapt to teaching schedules that may include weekdays, weekday evenings, or weekends.
