About The Position

D’Youville University’s Center for Workforce Development is seeking Adjunct Clinical Workforce Instructors to support short-term healthcare and allied health training programs. These positions are course-based and scheduled as workforce programs are offered. Candidates must meet program-specific instructor eligibility requirements for the area they will teach. This may include active NYS RN licensure, active certification in the instructional area, clinical instructor approval, or documented professional experience required by applicable certification, regulatory, or program approval standards. This role is intended for qualified healthcare professionals who can teach, demonstrate, supervise, and evaluate hands-on skills for students preparing for entry-level healthcare careers. Applicants who do not hold the required license, certification, or program-specific experience will not be considered for clinical instructor assignments.

Requirements

  • Current active license, certification, or credential in the program area being taught, where required.
  • Ability to meet NYS, certification-body, clinical instructor, or program-specific instructor requirements.
  • Documented clinical, healthcare, allied health, or direct field experience related to the instructional area.
  • Ability to teach, demonstrate, coach, supervise, and evaluate hands-on healthcare skills.
  • Strong communication, documentation, organization, and student support skills.
  • Comfort working with adult learners and students entering healthcare for the first time.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching, precepting, staff development, clinical education, or workforce training experience.
  • Experience with skills labs, simulations, competency checkoffs, or workplace training.
  • Experience supporting hybrid or online learning.
  • Flexibility to support evening, weekend, or accelerated course schedules.
