About The Position

Heidelberg University is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for its School of Allied Health, specifically in the fields of Health Science and Athletic Training. This role involves providing instruction to undergraduate students in exercise science and/or health science. Adjunct instructors will teach part-time on an as-needed basis and must be flexible to teach in various formats (in-person, hybrid, online) and at different class times, including evenings, as dictated by program needs. Applications are accepted into the pool on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree or appropriate professional experience in a related field.
• Teaching/Instructional experience.
• Ability to relate to a diverse cross-section of individuals.
• Must demonstrate analytical and strategic thinking abilities.

• Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and appreciation for a liberal arts tradition.

• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Ability or willingness to learn to manage class in an online learning modality.

Nice To Haves

• Ph.D. or ABD in a related field
• Documented background in the related instructional area.
• Two years of college-level teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in exercise science and/or health science as needed in Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters based on candidate expertise and qualifications. Courses could be assigned as in-person or online instruction.
• Utilize innovative and collaborative teaching methods in support of the School’s mission and learning objectives.
• Perform other essential duties as assigned/as outlined in the Faculty Manual.
