About The Position

Carroll University seeks Adjunct Instructors of Biology to teach one or more of the listed courses in Spring 2027, from January 19 through May 4. Applicants should indicate the course number, section, and name they are interested and available to teach in the application comments and/or cover letter. BIO212, Microbiology for the Health Sciences, examines the fundamentals of microbiology—including structure, metabolism, genetics, and growth—and surveys the microbial world. It considers interactions between microbes and hosts and diseases caused by microbes. Section A meets on campus Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. The qualification is a graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Biology or a related field. BIO225L, Organismal Physiology Laboratory, is the laboratory component for BIO225. It investigates the diversity of form and function in plants and animals at the physiological level. Students learn the cellular and biochemical basis of physiological processes, the diversity of organismal forms, and biological adaptations that help plants and animals cope with their environments. Comparative experiments reinforce lecture concepts and develop students’ ability to apply their understanding of physiological mechanisms in diverse organisms. Section A meets on campus Wednesdays from 1:20 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.; Section B meets on campus Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A degree in Biology or a related field is required; a graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) is preferred. Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, and unofficial graduate transcripts. Letters of recommendation or course evaluations are encouraged; the posting also requests examples of teaching effectiveness, such as course evaluations or a letter from a current supervisor attesting to classroom skills. Official transcripts are due upon hire. Application review begins immediately and continues until the position is filled.
