About The Position

The Workforce Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the workforce center, which provides job readiness and employment services to unhoused and formerly unhoused individuals. This includes facilitating workshops, supporting clients with job readiness, and ensuring a structured, welcoming, and productive environment. This role serves as the primary point of contact for participants, helping them navigate employment services while maintaining center organization and program flow. The Workforce Coordinator allows the Program Manager to focus on partnerships, program growth, and strategic initiatives by managing on-site operations and direct client support.

  • Ability to manage a group setting and facilitate workshops
  • Organized with strong attention to detail and data tracking
  • Comfortable working with diverse and underserved populations
  • Ability to take initiative and manage daily operations independently

  • Workforce development, case management, or employment services experience
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or barriers to employment
  • Familiarity with job platforms (Indeed, Instawork, etc.)
  • Experience facilitating workshops or group sessions

Responsibilities

  • Open, manage, and maintain daily operations of the workforce center
  • Ensure a structured, professional, and welcoming environment for all participants
  • Monitor attendance, daily sign-ins, and client engagement
  • Provide general supervision of the space and maintain organization throughout the day
  • Lead or support daily workshops (resume building, interview skills, job readiness, life skills)
  • Provide one-on-one assistance with: Resume development, Job applications (Indeed, online portals), Interview preparation
  • Reinforce workplace expectations, accountability, and professional behavior
  • Assist clients with job search activities and employment planning
  • Help clients access certifications (OSHA, CPR, Food Handlers, Guard Card, etc.)
  • Support clients in overcoming barriers to employment, including transportation, documentation, and housing instability
  • Track daily participation, services provided, and outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records for reporting (employment placements, certifications, attendance)
  • Assist with data entry and program documentation
  • Support coordination of hiring events, guest speakers, and training sessions
  • Communicate updates to the Program Manager regarding client progress and needs
  • Provide follow-up support to clients after employment placement when needed
