McAngus Goudelock & Courie (MGC) is seeking an Associate attorney to join its Workers' Compensation team in Atlanta. The role focuses on workers' compensation defense and involves managing files from initial assessment through discovery, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation. The firm is looking for an attorney with a proactive, detail-oriented approach who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment and is open to using AI to improve everyday legal work.

Requirements

• Must be licensed to practice law in Georgia.
• Two to three years of practice experience in workers' compensation defense.
• Commitment to the firm's vision of becoming a nationally recognized insurance law firm.
• Superior organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, and provide thorough reports.
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.
