About The Position

Performs a variety of duties including cleaning and sanitizing of work areas, utensils, and equipment. Cooks, bakes, and prepares hot and cold foods for patients, cafeteria, and/or special functions. Performs duties related to the assembly and service of food to patients and/or customers of all ages. Provides cashier services in the cafeteria. Services and stocks all vending machines. Responsible for dry goods, paper goods, and refrigerated/frozen storage inventory. Monitors computer system for diet orders and requests inputted by nursing associates and verifies the diet order with menus.

Requirements

• High School degree or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions.
• Good communication and telephone skills.
• Manual dexterity and motion coordination.
• Pleasant disposition due to extensive patient contact.
• Flexibility and ability to meet deadlines.
• Basic skills in sanitation and safety.
• Knowledge of basic food groups.
• Ability to procure products from written recipes.
• Ability to locate and use resource materials in diet manuals.
• On-the-job training required.

Nice To Haves

• Some computer knowledge useful.
• Dietary Managers course or coursework in Nutrition desired for Worker II aide position.
